How God used the Internet to find an 18 year old?
Marci is an 18 year old student graduating from
High School. He is a brilliant young man pursuing an academic career. One day
as he was surfing on the internet he came across an advertisement. "Does
God really exist?" - was the title of it. This ad pointed him to
our new evangelistic website that we've developed a year ago
(www.everystudent.hu). That website has many personal stories of students
who found hope in Christ. Also, it's full of apologetical articles proving the
existence of God along with an explanation of the Gospel, an
opportunity to ask questions and request a personal follow-up. We
advertise this website through various ways. That's how Marci has found us
when he was surfing for something else. He clicked on our ad and was marveled
by what he found there. He contacted us through that website and asked
questions. After trading several emails, eventually he made a decision to
commit his life to Christ. Some weeks ago he also came to our bi-annual YTL
Student Retreat. (See him on the picture above in the white shirt.) It's
truly amazing how God can use various means to reach people with the good news!
Marci's story is just one out of the hundreds whose life had been touched
through this website. Our staff and volunteers are corresponding with over
2000 people who expressed a desire (through this website) to get to know
God. Daily we get dozens of emails saying things like this:
- "When
I thought that I'm loosing everything that I have achieved in life, that's
when I came across your web and started receiving your letters! I'm
getting my hopes back that God cares for me."
- "Your
letters are very important to me because I live at a remote area where I
don't know anybody with whom I could talk about Jesus."
- "These
letters I receive from you are giving me great peace. It's great to know
that God still loves us."
- "Thank
you for patiently listening to me. I can't wait to receive the next letter
from you. Everything you wrote was full of truth and gave me great
comfort."
